Wall graphics bring a space to life
St. Monica Catholic High School asked me to create dynamic and colorful wall graphics to give new life to a 1950s-era science building. I created a 360º kelp forest for the Marine Ocean Research Institute, vibrant graphics for the Makerspace, and “careers in STEM” graphics for the two stairways leading down to the STEM department. I guided the project through installation.
Marine Ocean Research Institute
Students in the school’s Marine Ocean Research Institute actually develop original marine biology research and pass it down to be continued by upcoming classes. This 360º photo collage mural of a kelp forest is both educational and exciting. Marine animals are featured with QR codes linking to student reports. The students love it!
Makerspace
The Makerspace includes 3-D printing, ceramics, and textiles. This is where students develop an affinity for creative careers like fashion design, graphic design, and manufacturing.
Stairways to STEM
The theme for the stairway wall graphics is “careers in STEM.” The art on the wall of one stairway features life science careers and the other features engineering and math careers.
